KBP Governor Abubakar Atiku Atiku Bagudu on Friday began distributing relief items to flood victims by the federal government in 2020.

He said the practice started with seven local governments, namely Birnin Kebi, Argungu, Bagudo, Bunza, Coco / Bessie, Dandi and Shanga, benefiting mainly rice, maize and sorghum farmers.

“The distribution of these items to the targeted consumers has been graced by President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said. The practice is led by NEMA and SEMA officials as well as other certified persons.

“The exercise will take place over the next seven days in seven local governments.

We intend to use the lessons learned from these focus local governments to effectively implement the practice in the remaining fourteen local councils.

Bagudu also said that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the guarantee for all victims.

This is to ensure that they are insured without the need for any crop failure or floods.

“The most important feature of Mr. President is that for the first time in the history of our country, all farmers, flood victims and beneficiaries, have been guaranteed insurance, crop failure or challenge, and they are guaranteed to continue to grow,” he said.

According to the governor, committees consisting of certified trust officials have been set up in 21 local governments to monitor the distribution.

He warned that the dead should be used only by the real victims.

Head of the National Emergency Management Agency, Tekur Abubakar, said 12.5 kilograms of rice seedlings, two liters of herbicides, one liter of pesticides, one liter of fertilizer, one bag of fertilizer and one bag of rice seedlings will be delivered to each rice farmer. Pump machine for 20 farmers.

One bag of seedlings for each maize farmer will provide 10 kg of seedlings, two liters of herbicides, one liter of pesticides, two liters of growth booster, one bag of fertilizer and one pump machine to 20 farmers.

Abubakar also said that each sorghum farmer has received 5 kg of seedlings, two liters of herbicides, one liter of pesticides, two liters of growth fertilizer, one bag of fertilizer and one unit of spray seedlings.
