Famous Nigerian entertainer Denrele Edu on Wednesday admired his father, Adekunle Alaba, because he was 80 years old.
The host took to his official Instagram page to share portraits of himself, his father and his two sisters.
He wrote: “Happy 80th Birthday to my wonderful father, Adekunle Alaba Edu. Thank you for an incredibly loving father like you; For myself, the lives of Ronke and Jumok are thousands of times brighter than Supernova.
“Today, when you turn 80, I pray that you will be blessed with nothing but a wonderful life.
“Every year, you will find new ways to impress me, as I have always wanted you to do. You have never failed to show me what a real person looks like and you have always shown love, kindness, and sincerity to everyone you meet.
“Even though your day is hard, you have a mission to make someone else laugh in pure selfishness. Your care and concern for everyone, especially your loved ones, is very encouraging and will probably go unnoticed. (No wonder I chose these features over you).
“I know things are not always easy, but you have repeatedly shown me how to walk in the storm and how to come out stronger, more compassionate and still with great humor.
“This is one of the greatest lessons we can learn, and we are proud to say that we, your children, need to learn from you.
“Thank you for teaching me not to take myself too seriously. Thank you for showing me how to stand up for myself. Thank you for showing me how to be compassionate and to stick to my decisions. Thank you for trusting me when I could not. ” (CC)
